Slow Cruise News We are looking at three places -- Jacksonville, Orlando, and Pensacola, Florida. We will use Military Locator & Reunion Service, Inc. again and we are anxiously awaiting their input regarding price, dates, hotel availability, etc. Our reunion in Portland ,OR was a great success except the number of attendees was disappointing. A total of 31 showed, and we had a great time The hotel was centrally located, food was excellent, the service was great , and we had a great bartender that kept us entertained. Pictures will be on the web site as soon as we can collect them from all of the "photographers." We were going to Charleston for the 2003 reunion, but the Holy Loch Association will hold their reunion there in March. We don't know how many of our members will attend that reunion, but the ones that do may not want to go to Charleston twice in the same year. Long term planning indicates that the 2004 reunion will be held in Charleston. All members with internet access should check their listing at www.simonlake.org/roster.htm and submit changes, corrections, etc. Of particular importance is your mailing address and e-mail address. We get a lot of returned U.S. Mail and e-mail due to outdated information. For those without internet access look at the roster and send corrections. Enclosed is a list of deceased members. Please submit any known corrections or additions to this list. Please be sure any information you submit is accurate. We have Simon Lake Patches, Caps, Jackets, and Polo Shirts for sale at a price much lower than you can find elsewhere. Also, the quality of the clothing items is better than you can find elsewhere at a comparable price. In addition to the better quality with a better logo and embroidery, and a better price, some small benefit accrues to the Association. In essence, if you need a cap, jacket, or shirt take a look at ours first. Pictures and descriptions of these items are available on the web site: < www.simonlake.org/misc.htm > . Dues!!! . Beginning January 1 st 2002 dues were increased to $10.00 per member. As of this date 104 members have not paid dues for 2000, 2001 and 2002. Many shipmates are carrying the load by sending donations in excess of their dues. Please mark your check for years paid. In fairness to the dues paying members, we will commence purging the list of non-paying members on 1 January 2003.
